Happy Halloween

I hope you have a Very Happy Halloween.  Here is a photo of my boys preparing to go trick or treating tonight.  This year they decided to be Batman, Storm Shadow & Optimus Prime.  Have a fun and safe night.

Just Baseball

Last year my oldest son Jeff played baseball for the Blue Jays.  So I created this two page layout for his baseball pictures.  I haven't gotten the pictures developed yet but I plan to put in each of the black boxes one picture.   In the square I will be putting pictures of him that I took of him playing each different position through out the season.  I will be putting his team picture in on of the large rectangles.  Plus i will be listing his team members in another with there numbers.

Patterned Pines

I am taking a half day off of work today because my dad who normally does our daycare had an appointment this morning.  So I decided to sit down for a couple of hours and create a few Christmas Cards.  For this card I decided to use the Patterned Pines Stamp Set, its a Hostess Set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  The tree image is actually one stamp with the three different trees on it.  I decided to cut them apart with my paper snips and layer them on Crushed Curry Card Stock.

How to Achieve The Best Stamped Images

How do you avoid solid stamps due to blotchy poor images?

Here's a way to get the best image as shown below.

• Gently sand the stamp with the sanding blocks (2) on page 188, $3.50, in both directions, then clean.

• Apply ink by tapping on the ink pad in one direction and then turn your stamp and ink up once more.  Voila!  A perfect image!

Santa Punch Art

Don't you just love using your punches to make fabulous cards?  There is a Punch Art Santa Card.  Isn't he adorable?

Instructions:

1.  Fold 4-1/4" X 10-1/2" Blush Blossom in half to form base of the card.  

 

2.  Punch out 11 Scallop Circles.  Trim 4 scallop circles a little less then half to form eye brows and mustache pieces.

3. Use scallop edge punch on one side of the 2" X 4-1/4" Piece of Whisper White Card Stock.

 

4.  Attach 2 eye brows under Scalloped Edge of Whisper White Card Stock to form the brim of Santa's hat.

 

5. Cut the 2" X 4-1/4" Riding Hood Red diagonally from 1/2" mark on one side to the 2" mark on the other side to form Santa's hat.

 

6.  Add Scallop Circle on red hat then add the Whisper White & Black Black Eyes.

 

7. Add 6 Scallop Circles around bottom of card to form Santa's bread. 

 

8.  Attach 1-3/8" Riding Hood Red Circle Punch to form month then add the 2 scallop circles.

 

9. Attach mustache pieces and 1-3/8" Blush Blossom Nose piece.

 

10.  Trim the pieces that over lap the back of the card. 

 

11.  Add accent to eyes with the White Gel Pen.

Scrap Riding Hood Red

2" X 4-1/4" Riding Hood Red

Scrap Basic Black

2" X 4-1/4" Whisper White

1 Sheet Whisper White (For Scallop Circles)

4-1/4" X 10-1/2" Blush Blossom
