My First Stampin' Up Leadership Experience: Make & Takes were fabulous! We arrived at Make & Takes to find the above Choclates waiting for our at our tables. The Leadership 2012 theme was My Way so these chocolates had 3 different types in them so we could have our chocolates "My Way".
Also waiting at our table was the above Gift we received from Shelli, it's this just beautiful? It matched our Leadership Bag.
We received the Mixed Bunches Stamp Set and the Loving Thoughts Stamp Set to create our 9 different Make & Takes. The above card was one of the 9 we had the chance to create. I didn't get all of mine made during our Make & Take Session and I haven't had the chance to stamp since I got back. My husband David had surgery on the 24th and I ended up with surprise oral surgery this past Tuesday. I will be posting all the finsished Make & Take Projects to the My Stamp Lady Chris Facebook Page make sure you are folowing me to check them out.

My First Stampin' Up Leadership Experience: Day 2 started with Breakfast then Kay & I headed over to the Convention Center for the Morning General Session. As we were waiting for the session to begin. Kay noticed that her friend Natalia was setting in the room infront of us. Natalia doesn't live in Minnesota with us so she doens't see her very often only at Convention, this was both Kay & Natalia's first leadership too so I made sure to take a photo for Kay because the day before Kay lost her camera.
Natalia took this picture of Kay & I while waiting for the general session to start. General Session included the 'State of Stampin' Up", it was a presenation by Scott Nielsen, Stampin' Up's CFO. It was hilarious. Scott did "Mr Nielsen's Neighborhood", he even sang "Mr Rogers Neighborhood". He had some neighbors visit then he presented the finanical to them and afterward he Salsa Danced with them! It was fabulous!!!
After General Session I had my next Leadership 2012 Breakout Class. Title Benefit Class that was presented by Bonnie Thurber. This class was great, we were able to hear what our current title benefits were and what we needed to achieve our next promotions. I made a plan for the next 6 months to what I need to do to be promoted to Manager!
Next was lunch, today's lunch wasn't as good for me. It was a chicken which was really good, but it also was green beans and mac-n-cheese and a brownie. I do not like green beans or mac-n-cheese but the brownie was also really good.
After lunch I headed to my next breakout class Coaching For Performance presented by Natalie White & Jim Pitt. I thought this class was great help with for me to learn how to improve the coaching my team. They tought us the coaching method they use to coach demonstrators in their business building program. I am looking forward to using this to help my team grow their business.
My last Leadership 2012 Class was Retaining & Engaging Your Downline presented by Donna Griffith & Patsy Waggoner. This was my favorite class at leadership. Patsy taught us what she does at her team meetings and what she does to recognize her team members. I learned so much since I got back I have been busy working on making changes to my own team meetings and downline recogniation program.
Our last night we went out went for Italian. Our group had so much fun together. Pictured above clockwise Lisa, Connie, Ann, Kay, Valerie, Slyvia, Kerrie, Me , Cassy & Terri.

My First Stampin' Up Leadership Experience: Day 1 started at 6 AM. Kay & I woke up and prepared for a very busy day of general session, share fair and breakout classes. After we were ready to get started we headed down to Starbucks for Kay's morning office and breakfast. We then headed over to the Henry B Gonzalez Convention Center, I was meeting other first time leadership goers with my color botton and Kay was meeting with a group she was doing a arranged swap with so we split up to do our stuff.
I meet up with Ann and her roommate Valerie and I started swapping my leadership swaps. Leadership General Session started at 9 AM and it was amazing! We got 3 different All-Attendee give-a-ways! We learned about a new product that will be coming out soon and changes to the upcoming catalogs. All I can say is wow! After general session it was time for lunch, we were served a delicious chicken salad and cheesecake.
My first Leadership 2012 breakout class was Sharing The Stampin' Up Opportuntiy with Brian Pilling. I found this class very informative and inspiring. It was fabulous. Next we had the Share Fair. We had the opportunity to attend up to 6 different booths over the next 3 hours. One of the booths was an hour so I actually only attended 5 both I thought the ones I got to attend were great. Very good ideas and information was shared by all!
After the Share Fair Day 1 activities were over. Ann had invited Kay & I out to dinner with some of her other friends. We went to the Saltgrass Steakhouse which was unbelievable. The picture above from left front clockwise features Cassy, Sylvia, Kay, Terri, Ann, Lisa, Kerrie, Connie & Valerie.
After dinner we headed out on the Riverwalk. It was decorated all up in Christmas Lights in the middle of January because that night, they were filming a Christmas Special of Extreme Home Makeover! We got to see a parade (pictured below) and were able to see Ty Pennington from a distance. They actually filmed us in the crowd so we will need to make sure to watch it when it airs for Christmas 2012!

My First Stampin' Up Leadership Experience: Check In Day. Wednesday January 18th was the 2012 Leadership Check in day and it was also my travel day to San Antonio, Texas. My morning started at 3:45 AM, when I got up to shower and be at the airport by 4:45 for my 6:15 flight from Minneapolis to Denver. My flight ended up leaving REALLY late, the captain came on the speaker after we had been sitting on the tarmac for a while and said the reason we hadn't left yet was because they were having a problem getting one of the engines to start. As I don't fly a lot to know if that is a normal occurrence it kind of freaked me a out a little bit. The guy next to me then started to complain that we should then be switching planes. But after a while (over an hour) we finally took off. Once we arrived in Denver I had about a 2 hour layover so I had my breakfast and called home and read my book for a little while.
Our flight from Denver to San Antonio also left late, but this time it wasn't our plane. This time our plane waiting for a late arriving flight from Seattle that had 12 people who were suppose to be on our flight. So we were told we were waiting for it. This flight was so bumpy, it was the worst flight I had ever had! (But I wasn't the only one who thought so, I heard many people say that too!) The pilots made up a lot of time because we only arrived about 15 minutes late to San Antonio, so that wasn't too bad.
Once I arrived in San Antonio, I took a shuttle to the Marriott Riverwalk Hotel. My roommate Kay had actually arrived the day before so she was already there but she had her Make & Takes scheduled for at the time I going to arrive so my plan was to go and visit the Alamo. I dropped off my bags at the hotel then I went over to the convention center to pick up my convention bag. Isn't this leadership 2012 bag just gorgeous?
After picking up my bag I went back to my hotel to drop off my other bag then I headed over to the Alamo. Boy was I surprised to see the actual size of The Alamo, I really expected it to be a whole lot bigger. I spent sometime Alamo and learning more about it.
Since I was scheduled for my Make & Takes at 6 PM I didn't have a ton of time so I headed back to my hotel to drop off my kids gifts and Kay was back at our room. Kay had stayed the first night with my friend Ann who I meet back in 2002 and roomed with at our very first convention. Kay told me to knock on the adjoining room door, that Ann was assigned that room for her and her roommate Valerie! So cool!
Kay, Ann & I then went back to the convention center. I had my make & takes but Kay & Ann were able to go to the Manager's Reception. (SO JEALOUS!!! :) ) We got 2 Stamp Sets for our Make & Takes from the Occasions Mini Catalog (Mixed Bunch & Loving Thoughts). We were given supplies to make a total of 9 make & takes but I didn't get them all finished, I will show those in the upcoming days.
After Make & Takes I headed back to the room to drop off my stuff and Kay & Ann weren't back yet and I hadn't eaten yet and it was after 9 I headed out to find some dinner. Then went back and Kay was there so she told me all about the Managers Reception. Wow, Manager's Reception is now definitely my goal for next years leadership! I don't want to miss all that fun ever again!

Today I am showing the Sweet Cakes Leadership Swap. I love this new set. I choose to use the color combo of Island Indigo, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder and Whisper White. For this card I stamped the cupcake image from the Sweet Cakes Stamp Set in Soft Suede Classic Stampin' Pad onto Whisper White Card Stock. I colored the frosting with a Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker then added a Brights Glimmer Brad for the cherry.
Next I stamped Happy Birthday using Island Indigo Classic Stamp Pad then used the corner rounder on each of the four corners. Next I layered it onto a piece of Pool Party Card Stock then used the Corner Rounder on each of the corners.
Next I useed the Pinking Hearts Border Punch on a piece of Wisteria Wonder Card Stock then I ran it through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine using the Adorning Accents Edgelits Die. I then attached it all together with SNAIL Adhesive.
Today I am traveling home from Stampin' Up's 2012 Leadership Conference. I am sure I will have lots to share with you all of next week.

One of the traditions of going to Stampin' Up Events is to create roommate & friends gifts. These calendars and pens are what I created for my friends and my roommate. I found these calendars at a local dollar store along with the RSVP pens and I decorated them with the Sweep Shop Designer Series Paper from the Occasions Mini Catalog.
I then personalized them with the Billboard Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die with Pool Party Card Stock with the letter of each of their first names. I then layered it onto a piece of Calypso Coral Card Stock that was punched with the Large Oval Punch then layered it once more onto a piece of Soft Suede Card Stock that was punched out using the Oval Scallop Punch.
