Twitterpated Iris Folding Heart for Valentine's Day

This Twitterpated Iris Folding Heart for Valentine's Day Card was made or my husband and father for Valentine's Day.  This year David & I agreed to keep Valentine's Day low-key this year because David had surgery just a few weeks ago and is currently on disability.  So we agreed to get each the movie's I had picked up.  He had wanted The Thing (the new one) so I had picked it up for him to watch while he recovers.  I had picked up Breaking Dawn Part 1 for myself Saturday morning.  I had also picked him a box of chocolates (Turtles). 

We also had conferences that night for our son Andrew so we planned to order Applebee's after conferences ended.  So after getting home from picking up dinner I passed out the kids their gifts and cards and David & dad theirs.  David says to me did you see your present?  As he looked to the fireplace.  There on the fireplace sat a Dozen Red Roses.  He also gave me my favorite Caramel Ghirardelli Chocolates!  So much for having an agreement! :)

Sprinkled Expressions Valentine

The Sprinkled Expressions Stamp Set is one of this years Sale-A-Bration Products available FREE with a $50 merchandise order.  It also makes a fabulous Valentine's Day Card!  This card was one of the many Valentine's Day projects I worked on today.  I can't say who it's going to because Valentine's Day isn't for a couple more days and I would hate to ruin their surprise when they open it.  

Since I needed to make a number of Valentine's Day Cards I made to sure to vary my shades of red with each card design.  So for this Sprinkled Expressions Valentine I decide to go with a Cherry Cobbler Monochromatic Card Design.  This base of the card uses Whisper White Card Stock and I trimmed off the bottom 1-1/2 then used the Eyelet Border Punch across it.  Next I added 2" of Cherry Cobbler Card Stock to the bottom to make the Eyelet Border stand out a little more.  

Next the LOVE you saying was added using Cherry Cobbler Classic Stampin' Pad above the Eyelet Border on the right side.  I then tied some Cherry Cobbler 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon above that then stamped the heart on the top right side of the card to finish this off.

Rubber Stamping Questions: Using SNAIL with the Lace Ribbon Border Punch

 

Rubber Stamping Questions:  I love using the Lace Ribbon Border Punch in my cardmaking but the only way I found to attach it to my project is with SNAIL Adhesive, but everytime I do I get SNAIL through the punch outs and then it sticks to things I don't want it to stick too.  Is there any way to stop this?

Rubber Stamping Answers: YES!  I too use SNAIL Adhesive with my Lace Ribbon Border Punch.  What I also use is the Adhesive Remover (Item #103684).  It's really easy to use, all you need to do is just gently rub it over the extra adhesive that you want to remove. It completely removes the extra adhesive and you won't ruin your project.  If your Adhesive Remove gets gummy simply cut off a portion with your scissors.  The Adhesive Remover is a perfect addition to your Stamping Tool Kit and it's only $3.50!

Rubber Stamping Questions: How many sheets of card stock can I run through my Big Shot at once?

Rubber Stamping Questions: I've heard that you can run multiple sheets of card stock through the Big Shot at the same time. How many sheets of card stock can I run through my Big Shot at once?

Rubber Stamping Answers: Using the steel rule dies, you can run multiple sheets of card stock through the Big Shot. The number of sheets depends on the die being used. Simple shape dies--dies that do not have perforation or scoring--can cut through up to eight sheets of card stock at once. Dies that feature perforation or scoring or that are more detailed may not produce the exact cuts when cutting multiples. You'll want to experiment and see how many sheets you are comfortable passing through the Big Shot at once to get the desired effect. Chemically-etched dies should only be used to cut one sheet of card stock or paper at a time.

Rubber Stamping Questions: Why isn't my clear-mount rubber stamp sticking to the acrylic block?

Rubber Stamping Questions:  Why isn't my clear-mount rubber stamp sticking to the acrylic block?

Rubber Stamping Answer: Our clear-mount stamps are designed to cling to our clear blocks but not so firmly that it would be difficult to remove them from the clear blocks.  These stamps are repositionable, so they need to be able to be removed easily.  However, your stamp should cling strongly enough to the acrylic block to allow you to stamp properly. 

If you are experiencing difficulty with the cling properties of your clear-mount stamp, try these solutions.

1. Check to make sure you mounted your clear-mount stamps as the directions instructed.  If your stamps are mounted incorrectly then it could decrease the performance of the cling material.
2. Make sure that both the clear block and the cling surface of the clear-mount stamp are clean and free from dirt, ink, liquid, oil, or other residue.  The cling properties of these stamps require clean surface area for the cling label to grip the clear block.  We suggest that your hands also be clean when using clear-mount stamps and it is best to avoid using lotions or any other oily substance on your hands prior to using clear-mount stamps.
3. Press the clear-mount stamp firmly onto the clear block, applying even pressure to the entire surface of the stamp.  After you adhere the stamp to the block, turn your block over (rubber side down) and press down firmly to ensure the cling hold to the entire stamp.  You will be able to see if the stamp is sufficiently adhered to the block if you see flat air bubbles.
4. Keep your clear-mount stamps and clear blocks at room temperature prior to use.  Extreme temperatures (hot or cold) may affect the cling properties in this product. Condensation caused by extreme temperatures may also affect cling properties of the stamps.
